BC Parks has a responsibility to manage and conserve the province’s parks. They dedicate themselves to protect ecological reserves, conservatories, and other natural areas that are significant. Not only does BC Parks dedicate themselves not only to the environment but the safety of those who may visit these protected areas. BC Park’s goal is to communicate that we can do more than prevent the fires.
Preventing fires only benefit targeting man-started fires but we cannot control all wildfires as some naturally occur. With ancestral Indigenous practices, we can tame wildfires as well as expanding these practices to the whole of the Western North America which is in a wildfire crisis. Let’s now educate the new generations and bring awareness to what we can do to help our environment.
